South Sudan and Equatorial Guinea to collaborate on Oil and Gas

 

South Sudan and Equatorial Guinea are to begin collaboration on Oil and Gas. The two nations will use the partnership as a basis for exchanging information on policy and regulation among others. South Sudan and Equatorial Guinea announced the partnership on Monday in Juba, setting out the terms for a strong bilateral relationship between the African oil and gas producers. According to a press release sent to Afro FM, the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima and South Sudan’s Minister of Petroleum Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth. The two nations will use the new partnership as a basis for exchanging information on policy and regulation; promoting upstream, downstream and infrastructure projects; and collaboration between the national oil companies Nilepet and GEPetrol.

Special IGAD summit to be held in Kenya

 

Special summit of Heads of State and Government of IGAD is to be convened on March 25th in Nairobi, Kenya to find solution to Somali refugees. Member states of IGAD, the international community and other stakeholders are expected to draw a comprehensive regional approach to deliver durable solutions for Somali refugees.

Dashin to donate 1mill to Koshe victims

Dashen Brewery Share Company is to donate a 1million birr aid for the victims of the Koshe landslide incident. Dashen brewery managing director Develin Hensewerz said the company will donate the money for the rehabilitating project. In addition, the management and employees sent their condolences for the families of victims and for all Ethiopians. According to a press release sent to afro fm, the company has been engaged in social work by donating 500 million birr for the last 16 years.

Great Run to be held in South Sudan

The first ever Great South Sudanese Run is set to be held on April 8, 2017 in the capital of South Sudan.  Great Ethiopian Run in collaboration with Ayesheshim Teka, an investor and resident of Juba are organizing the event. The Great South Sudanese Run will host a total of 5,000 participants and the length of the run will be 10 KM.

Ethiopia and Djibouti signed agreement

Ethiopia and Djibouti have signed three agreements and a memorandum of understanding. The signing took place at the national palace earlier today during the visit of Djibouti’s President Omer Guelleh. Various ministers from both countries have attended the signing. Agreements in the areas of extra-dition, Mutual legal assistance on Criminal matters and a Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation in the fields of Justice and legal trainings have been signed by the two sides. Minister of Finance and economy of Djbouti Iyas Moussa Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh and Ethiopia’s trade minister Bekele Muladu have signed an agreement in the area of trade cooperation.
