Ethiopian woman wins UNESCO-Merck 2016 award
An Ethiopian woman was among the five Best African Woman Researchers of UNESCO-Merck 2016.
The researchers received prizes at a ceremony held here in Addis Ababa.
Youth researchers who won Best Young African Researcher Award also received prizes.
According to the Ethiopian News Agency, the research of the Ethiopian award-winning researcher, Dr. Martha Zewdie, was on regulatory T cells in pulmonary tuberculosis patients. The other award-winning women researchers are from universities and research institutions of Kenya, Burkina Faso, Gabon, and Uganda.
